It is an extension of terraced house, between villas and apartments, and is composed of multi-storey villa-style duplex houses. Generally, it has four to seven floors, which are formed by superimposing villas with two to three floors per unit. Compared with a terraced house, this kind of bay has a richer independent surface shape, and at the same time, it overcomes the defect of narrow depth of terraced house to a certain extent.

The air villa originated in the United States and is called “penthouse” or “air attic”. It originally refers to a luxurious house located at the top of the high-rise building in the center of the city.
